Senior Pastor Victor Carl Davis, Sr. is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the seventh child of the late Walter Riley and Myrtle Mae Davis. Raised in a loving home grounded in strong family values, faith, and a solid Christian foundation, Pastor Davis was introduced early to the importance of loving God, honoring family, serving the church, and caring for others. These foundational principles would ultimately shape his character, leadership, and lifelong commitment to ministry.
Pastor Davis received his primary and secondary education through Milwaukee Public Schools and graduated from Custer High School. Following graduation, he received a scholarship to attend Macalester College in Minnesota. His desire to grow in his knowledge and understanding of the Word of God later led him to continue his studies at University Biblical College in Bethany, Oklahoma.
From an early age, Pastor Davis witnessed firsthand the sacrifice and dedication required to build and sustain ministry. Through the example of his parents, he developed a deep love for the church and a willingness to serve wherever needed. Long before assuming the role of Senior Pastor, he understood that ministry was not simply about holding a position or standing behind a pulpit—it was about being available to God and committed to His people.
A defining season in Pastor Davis’ life and ministry began in 1986 when his father’s health started to decline. During this time, father and son shared countless meaningful moments together. Their one-on-one conversations became opportunities for wisdom, spiritual guidance, instruction, and preparation for what God had ahead. These moments represented more than conversations between a father and son; they became part of a sacred transition as the mantle of leadership was being passed to the next generation.
Even as his health declined, Walter Riley Davis remained focused on the future of the ministry. His desire was that the church would continue growing, reaching people, and becoming “greater.” That vision became an important part of the church’s identity. In 1988, the ministry was renamed Greater Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, reflecting the expectation that God had greater things ahead for the congregation and community. That same year, Pastor Victor Carl Davis, Sr. received his pastoral appointment and accepted the responsibility of carrying the ministry forward.
Since answering that call, Pastor Davis has devoted his life to serving God and His people. His leadership has been characterized by faithfulness, sacrifice, generosity, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the vision entrusted to him. Throughout his pastoral journey, he has remained committed to preserving the spiritual foundation established by his parents while continuing to position Greater Mount Sinai for future generations.
Pastor Davis is known for a generous heart and a willingness to make personal sacrifices for the advancement of ministry. Throughout the years, he has given not only of his time and leadership, but also of his personal resources and possessions to help bring the vision of the ministry to life. For Pastor Davis, ministry has never been about personal recognition; it has been about obedience to God, service to His people, and ensuring that the work of the Kingdom continues.
At the heart of his pastoral leadership is a genuine love for people. He believes the church should be a place where individuals and families can encounter God, experience love and fellowship, grow spiritually, and discover the purpose God has for their lives. His desire is for Greater Mount Sinai to remain a ministry where generations can worship together, families can be strengthened, leaders can be developed, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ can continue to transform lives.
Beyond the pulpit, Pastor Davis is a devoted family man. He is the loving husband of First Lady Vannessa L. Davis and the proud father of two daughters, Donnetta Marie and Shaunae LaToya, and one son, Victor Carl Davis, Jr. He is also a proud grandfather to Bliss, Curtis, and Sameer. His commitment to family remains an important reflection of the values instilled in him from childhood.
For more than three decades, Pastor Davis has carried the responsibility and privilege of leading Greater Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ. Through changing seasons, challenges, victories, and growth, his commitment to God and the ministry has remained steadfast.

Elder William Branch III is a devoted man of God whose life and ministry reflect a sincere commitment to serving the Lord and His people. With a heart for ministry and a passion for the Word of God, Elder Branch faithfully serves with humility, wisdom, and dedication.
As an Elder, he understands the responsibility of spiritual leadership and strives to be an example of Christian character, integrity, and faithfulness. Whether sharing the Word of God, offering encouragement and prayer, supporting the vision of the ministry, or simply being available to those in need, Elder Branch believes that every opportunity to serve is an opportunity to glorify God.

Elder Jerome Johnson

Elder Jerome Moody Johnson is the embodiment of a strong prayer life, Gods power and a heart for the people of God. Reared in a loving home with prayer at the apex, Jerome learned the value and the power of prayer early. The eldest child of Elder Eric and Sister Sonya Moody, Jerome was set apart for the master’s use. He was taught at a young age that “prayer changes things”. Late one night after struggling within himself to find his way, it was prayer that would change things for him again. By the help of the Lord and the prayers of his lifelong pastor, Superintendent Victor C. Davis Sr, he was able to find his way back to the place that God had preordained him to be.
As God continues to manifest himself in the life of Elder Johnson he continues to share the love of God with his family. Elder Johnson is the devoted and loving husband of Lady Ashley Johnson for 11 years and he is godly proud to be the father of Jeremiah and baby Aubrey Johnson. Elder Johnson truly has” come this far by faith”.

Shanel Vrontez
Assistant Pastor
Evangelist Shanel D. Vrontez is an author, educator, community leader, and faith-based speaker with over 30 years of ministry experience. She is the Founder and CEO of YLEAD, LLC, a youth leadership development agency committed to empowering young leaders to create change in their communities. Her professional background includes serving as Community Engagement Manager for 414LIFE, a violence interruption initiative of the City of Milwaukee’s Office of Violence Prevention, and previously serving as Co-Director of NOVA High School.
In ministry, she is an active member of Greater Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Victor C. Davis, Sr., where she has served in multiple leadership roles including evangelist, Youth Pastor, District Youth President of the Brotherly Love District, former Jurisdictional Chairlady of the Minnesota Jurisdiction (1999–2007), Overseer of the GMS Youth Department, and currently Chief of Staff of the IYD Midwest–North Central Region.As an author and speaker, Evangelist Vrontez focuses on faith, leadership, healing, identity, and generational legacy, equipping individuals and communities to walk in purpose, restoration, and transformation.
Rugenia Davis
Assistant Pastor
Evangelist Rugenia Davis is a devoted servant of the Lord with a genuine heart for God’s people and a passion for serving wherever there is a need. Her life and ministry are rooted in compassion, prayer, encouragement, and demonstrating the love of Jesus Christ through both words and actions.
Rugenia has a special heart for visiting the sick and shut-in, offering encouragement, prayer, and a comforting presence during seasons of illness and difficulty. She believes some of the greatest opportunities for ministry happen beyond the walls of the church through simple acts of kindness, compassion, and being present for others.
She faithfully serves with humility and dedication, finding fulfillment in knowing her service can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. Above all, Rugenia desires to remain a willing vessel in God’s hands and reflect the love of Christ in all she does.
Her favorite Scripture is Galatians 5:13: “By love serve one another.”
